This work focuses on the development of an individual-based model (IbM) implemented in the NetLogo programming environment to simulate the population dynamics of Setaria spp., a problematic weed in corn (Zea mays) fields. The developed model allows for the exploration of intraspecific interactions (among individuals of Setaria spp.) and interspecific interactions (between individuals of Setaria spp. and corn), as well as the effects of herbicide application. The results obtained demonstrate the model's ability to represent population dynamics in different simulation scenarios, highlighting the influence of herbicide resistance and providing an initial simulator for further investigation into the development at the plant level of Setaria spp. and its integration into a crop environment, facilitating virtual experimentation to test future improvements in weed management. This project contributes to the knowledge of the ecology of Setaria spp. and offers a practical tool for agricultural management, particularly in addressing the issue of weed resistance to herbicides.

Aquest treball es centra en el desenvolupament d'un model computacional basat en l'individu (IbM) implementat en l'entorn de programació de NetLogo per simular les dinàmiques poblacionals de Setaria spp., una mala herba problemàtica en camps de cultiu de blat de moro (Zea mays). El model desenvolupat permet explorar les interaccions intraespecífiques (entre individus de Setaria spp.) i interespecífiques (entre individus de Setaria spp i blat de moro), així com els efectes de l'aplicació d'herbicides. Els resultats obtinguts mostren la capacitat del model per representar les dinàmiques poblacionals en diferents escenaris de simulació, destacant la influència de la resistència als herbicides i proporcionant un primer simulador per seguir investigant el desenvolupament a nivell de planta Setaria spp. i la seva integració en un entorn de cultiu, facilitant l'experimentació virtual per assajar amb futures millores en la gestió de males herbes. Aquest projecte contribueix al coneixement sobre l'ecologia de Setaria spp. i ofereix una primera eina pràctica per a la gestió agrícola, especialment en la problemàtica de la resistència de les males herbes als herbicides.

Weeds represent one of the main problems in agriculture today. One of the control methods is herbicides that inhibit acetolactate synthase (ALS), but the resistance of some populations makes control difficult. Herbicide resistance in plants is assumed to have an associated cost, but this is not always easy to detect through biological fitness studies. The aim of the study was to compare fitness in populations of Digitaria sanguinalis resistant and susceptible to acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor herbicides, in different aspects such as germination, emergence and the interaction of the two populations with two different phenotypes of the parasitic fungus Ustilago syntherismae, which has a drastic effect on the reproduction of D. sanguinalis, as it reduces seed production by replacing spikelets with a mass of spores. The tests found significant differences between the two populations of D. sanguinalis in terms of germination (the resistant spikelets germinated faster than the susceptible ones), emergence (the resistant spikelets presented a greater percentage of seedlings that emerged at a shallow depth of burial), and in the interaction with the fungus (the proportion of charred plants was significantly higher in the resistant than in the susceptible ones, and on the other hand, in terms of individual reproductive capacity, the susceptible ones were significantly higher). These data provide a snapshot of the costs associated with the fitness of resistant versus susceptible populations, as well as providing valuable information for predicting evolutionary dynamics and designing resistance management strategies.

Les males herbes representen un dels principals problemes de l'agricultura actual. Un dels mètodes de control son els herbicides inhibidors de l'acetolactat sintasa (ALS) però la resistència de algunes poblacions dificulta el control. Es suposa que la resistència als herbicides, en les plantes, té un cost associat, però aquest no sempre és fàcil de detectar a través d'estudis sobre l'aptitud biològica. L'objectiu de l'estudi va ser comparar la fitness en poblacions de Digitaria sanguinalis resistents i susceptibles als herbicides inhibidors de l'acetolactat sintasa (ALS), en diferents aspectes com la germinació, l'emergència i en la interacció de les dues poblacions amb dos fenotips diferents del fong paràsit Ustilago syntherismae, que té un efecte dràstic en la reproducció de D. sanguinalis, ja que redueix la producció de llavors al substituir les espiguetes per una massa d'espores. Els assajos van constatar diferències significatives entre les dues poblacions de D. sanguinalis en quant a la germinació ( les espiguetes resistents van germinar més ràpidament que les susceptibles), l'emergència (les espiguetes resistents van presentar un percentatge major de plàntules emergides a poca profunditat d'enterrament), i en la interacció amb el fong ( la proporció de plantes encarbonades va ser significativament superior en les resistents que en les susceptibles, i en canvi quant a la capacitat reproductiva individual van ser significadament superior les susceptibles). Aquestes dades ofereixen una compressió dels costos associats a la fitness de les poblacions resistents en comparació a les susceptibles, a més de proporcionar informació valuosa per a predir la dinàmica evolutiva i dissenyar estratègies de maneig de resistències.

This project has studied how lineage and environment affect the germination pattern of Digitaria sanguinalis. D. sanguinalis presents dimorphism in the germination pattern of the spikelets, that can germinate in a radicular way or coleoptilar way. This project focuses on the environmental effects, maternal effects, and the effects of the grandmother plant on spikelet germination. Two germination tests were performed with spikelets from known lineages and different inflorescences from 2018. The germination pattern shown in each of them was periodically monitored. The trials have found that there are significant differences (p <0.05) in the germination pattern of the spikelets according to the germination pattern of the mother plant and according to the germination pattern of the grandmother plant. The frequency of spikelets germinated in a certain way was different depending on the lineage but, on average, there were always more coleoptilar than radicular spikelets, regardless of lineage. As for the inflorescences, the general analysis showed significant differences (p <0.05), the spikelets of the later inflorescences showed a higher percentage of coleoptilar spikelets than the previous ones.

En este trabajo se ha estudiado cómo afecta el linaje y el ambiente en la pauta de germinación de Digitaria sanguinalis. D. sanguinalis presenta dimorfismo en la pauta de germinación de las espiguillas, estas pueden germinar de manera radicular o de manera coleoptilar. Este trabajo se centra en los efectos ambientales, los efectos maternos y los efectos de la planta abuela en la germinación de las espiguillas. Se realizaron dos ensayos de germinación con espiguillas procedentes de linajes conocidos y diferentes inflorescencias del 2018. Periódicamente se hizo un seguimiento de la pauta de germinación que mostraba cada una de ellas. Los ensayos constataron que existen diferencias significativas (p <0,05) en la pauta de germinación de las espiguillas según la pauta de germinación de la planta madre y según la pauta de germinación de la planta abuela. La frecuencia de espiguillas germinadas de una determinada manera fue diferente según el linaje, pero en promedio siempre hay más espiguillas coleoptilares que radiculares, independientemente del linaje. En cuanto a las inflorescencias el análisis general mostró diferencias significativas (p <0,05), las espiguillas de las inflorescencias más tardías muestran un porcentaje mayor de espiguillas coleoptilars que las más tempranas.

The stone pine (Pinus pinea L.) is a tree species native to the Mediterranean region, much appreciated for its edible seed: the pine nut. Pine nuts are highly valued products in gastronomy for their taste and nutritional and organoleptic quality. It has been consumed in many dishes since ancient times and has been encouraged to expand. Its global demand is currently on the rise and the prices paid for this seed are very high. Despite this link to humans throughout history, the stone pine is a tree that has not been domesticated, as is the case with other nuts-producing trees. Today most of the production of pine nuts still takes place in the forests. Only in recent decades have efforts been made to domesticate the species, through knowing the behaviour of this tree, the factors that determine its production, the techniques that have to be applied to maximize its fruiting and the genetic selection of the individuals with more and better production. The present work is based on the research context of the stone pine in order to be able to manage it in a fruitful way, similar to the cultivation techniques of other nuts-producing trees. The work focuses on the type of plant reproductive material of stone pine: seeds and grafts. These are two ways to generate new plantations and will be analysed what these materials are and what their advantages and disadvantages are. Therefore, the aim of this study is to compare plantations that come from seed and graft. All the information has been collected from scientific and informative publications on the stone pine and its cultivation, as well as all the first-hand information that the mentors of the work have provided to its author. There is also talk about the challenges for the future of this species, whether in intensive plantations or forests, and how climate change will affect its productive viability. At the end of the work, a specific proposal for the planting of stone pine is presented with the decisions recommended by the author, according to the information presented in the work. An agroforestry system has been chosen, which combines different producing species on the same plot and increases its economic and environmental benefit. Considering the two reproductive methods explained, it is advisable to opt for the use of the graft to have highly productive plantations with early production. Seed trees are cheaper and easier to obtain, but their production of pine nuts is lower and takes longer to start. Grafted trees also have the great advantage of being able to use highly productive clones and rootstock appropriate to the soil conditions of the land.

El pino piñonero (Pinus pinea L.) es una especie arbórea originaria de la región mediterránea, muy apreciada por su semilla comestible: el piñón. Los piñones son productos muy bien valorados en gastronomía por su sabor y su calidad nutricional y organoléptica. Desde la antigüedad se han consumido en numerosos platos y se ha favorecido su expansión. Actualmente su demanda a nivel global está en aumento y los precios pagados por esta semilla son muy elevados. Aunque exista este vínculo con el ser humano a lo largo de la historia, el pino piñonero es un árbol que no se ha domesticado, como sí ocurrió con otros árboles productores de frutos secos. Hoy en día la mayor parte de la producción de piñones todavía tiene lugar en los bosques. Solo en las últimas décadas se han hecho esfuerzos para domesticar la especie, a través de conocer el comportamiento de este árbol, los factores que determinan su producción, las técnicas que hay que aplicar para maximizar su fructificación y la selección genética de los individuos con más y mejor producción. El presente trabajo parte de este contexto de investigación del pino piñonero para poder gestionarlo desde una manera frutal, parecida a las técnicas de cultivo de los otros árboles productores de frutos secos. El trabajo se centra en el tipo de material vegetal de reproducción del pino piñonero: las semillas y los injertos. Estas son dos maneras de generar nuevas plantaciones y se analizará cómo son estos materiales y qué ventajas e inconvenientes presentan. Pues, el objetivo de este trabajo es comparar las plantaciones de pino piñonero de semilla y las injertadas. Toda la información ha sido recogida de publicaciones científicas y divulgativas sobre el pino piñonero y su cultivo, así como toda la información de primera mano que las tutoras del trabajo han aportado a su autor. También se habla de cuáles son los retos para el futuro de esta especie, ya sea en plantaciones intensivas o en bosques, y sobre como el cambio climático afectará su viabilidad productiva. Al final del trabajo se presenta una propuesta concreta de plantación de pino piñonero con las decisiones que recomienda el autor, según la información que hay expuesta en el trabajo. Se ha optado por un sistema agroforestal, que combine diferentes especies productoras en la misma parcela y aumenten el beneficio económico y medioambiental. Teniendo en cuenta los dos métodos reproductivos explicados, conviene decantarse por el uso del injerto para tener plantaciones altamente productivas y con producciones precoces. Los árboles de semilla son más baratos y sencillos de conseguir, pero su producción de piñón es menor y tarda más años en iniciarla. Los árboles injertados también tienen la gran ventaja de poder utilizar clones altamente productivos y patrones adecuados a las condiciones edafológicas del terreno.

Les males herbes són actualment una de les principals restriccions a la producció d'aliments arreu del món, així com la principal amenaça pels agricultors. El seu control és, per tant, de vital importància de cara a garantir un èxit productiu dels cultius. Per a això s'utilitzen diferents mètodes com herbicides o encoixinats plàstics. No obstant això, problemes de contaminació i espècies resistents a herbicides han aparegut i crescut aquests últims anys. L'hydromulch, un tipus d'encoixinat líquid que s'aplica al sòl, és una alternativa més sostenible als encoixinats plàstics. Es pretén estudiar en aquest treball les propietats mecàniques d'un hydromulch fabricat a partir de pasta de paper, guix, fibra Kraft i diferents residus orgànics com clòfia d'arròs, palla i residu de xampinyó, així com veure l'efecte d'aquest en la germinació i emergència d'una sèrie de plantes arvenses: Amarantus retroflexus, Digitaria sanguinalis, Lactuca serriola, Sonchus oleraceus, Torilis arvensis i Xanthium strumarium. Aquesta última espècie va haver de ser eliminada de l'estudi com a conseqüència del baix percentatge de germinació obtingut. Paral·lelament, es pretén portar a terme una millora de l'hydromulch fabricat a partir de clòfia d'arròs i palla mitjançant una neteja del residu orgànic amb un tensoactiu. La resistència a tracció i punxonament dels materials ha estat estudiada, i s'ha realitzat un recompte de la germinació i emergència de les llavors sota l'hydromulch, així com un estudi de la seva viabilitat mitjançant el test del tetrazoli. Els resultats de tensió i energia, així com els valors de germinació i viabilitat de les llavors, han estat estudiats estadísticament. Es va obtenir un material que va presentar una força de tensió mitjana a la tracció de 0.18 MPa i al punxonat de 2.47 MPa. La millora dels materials no ha resultat com s'esperava, ja que els resultats obtinguts foren inferiors als obtinguts prèviament a la millora. L'hydromulch ha resultat ser una bona mesura de control de males herbes, ja que ha impedit l'emergència de plàntules de totes les espècies estudiades sense alterar la viabilitat de les seves llavors. Es consolida, així, com una alternativa molt interessant per a substituir els encoixinats plàstics.

Weeds are currently one of the main restrictions to food production worldwide as well as the main threat to farmers. Their control is, thus, of vital importance so as to ensure a productive success of crops. For this purpose, different methods are used such as weed-killers or oil-based plastic padding, known as mulches. Nevertheless, contamination problems and herbicide-resistant species are progressively appearing. Hydromulches, a kind of liquid padding made from paper pulp which is applied to the soil, are a more sustainable solution to oil-based plastic mulches. Mechanical properties of an hydromulch made from paper pulp, plaster, Kraft fibre and organic wastes as rice husk, straw, and mushroom wastes are aimed to be studied in this report, as well as to find out the effect of this material on the germination and emergence of a set of weeds: Amarantus retroflexus, Digitaria sanguinalis, Lactuca serriola, Sonchus oleraceus, Torilis arvensis and Xanthium strumarium. The latter had to be removed from the experiment owing to the low percentage of germination obtained. Concurrently, there will be carried out an enhancement of an hydromulch made from rice husk and straw through the organic residue cleaning with a surfactant. To do this, the resistance to traction and perforation have been studied, and a seed germination and emergence count under hydromulch has been performed. Seed feasibility has been analysed through tetrazole test. A statistical analysis has been carried out to assess the results of stress and energy of the material as well as the values of germination and feasibility of the seeds. A material displaying average stress to the traction of 0.18 MPa and to perforation of 2.47 MPa was achieved. The material improvement did not end up as expected since the results obtained were lower to those obtained before the above-mentioned improvement. The hydromulch has ended up being a good weed control measure since it has avoided the emergence of the plantlets of all the species studied without alter the feasibility of their seeds. It becomes established as one very interesting alternative to oil-based plastic mulches.

El hydromulch, que consiste en un mulch biodegradable de aplicación en estado líquido en el campo, podría llegar a ser uno de los métodos más eficaces para el control de las malas hierbas perennes. El objetivo inicial de este trabajo ha sido estudiar el efecto del hydromulch sobre la inhibición del rebrote de los rizomas de 4 especies vegetales consideradas malas hierbas (Cynodon dactylon, Cyperus rotundus, Paspalum dilatatum y Sorghum halepense). Se quiere estudiar si el hydromulch es capaz de inhibir la brotación de estos propágulos, y en caso de que no sea así, cuantificar la proporción de brotes que emergen penetrándolo. El hydromulch estudiado se compone de pasta de papel, paja, fibra Kraft y yeso. Se aprovechará también para estudiar la dureza de esta mezcla con distintas humedades. El resultado del experimento no ha sido el que se esperaba. Muchos de los brotes de rizomas han emergido lateralmente, entre el límite del hydromulch y el plástico de los recipientes donde se hizo el experimento. Hemos observado que el hydromulch no ha inhibido el rebrote de los rizomas de estas especies vegetales. Los brotes de todas ellas han podido perforarlo, pero P. dilatatum ha sido la especie que lo ha hecho en más proporción. El volumen de hydromulch aplicado es una variable importante para su rendimiento. Hemos observado que al aplicar 4.44 ml d'hydromulch por cm2 de superfície, el número de perforaciones se reduce a más de la mitad que cuando aplicamos 2.22 ml/cm2. Algunos brotes han podido perforarlo, pero no sabemos si los brotes que han emergido lateralmente lo hubieran hecho si no hubiesen emergido lateralmente. En consecuencia, no se puede valorar si el hydromulch ofrece suficiente resistencia a lo brotes de estas plantas rizomatosas, como para que sea considerado una herramienta útil para el control de estas.

L'hydromulch, que consisteix en un mulch biodegradable d'aplicació en estat líquid al camp, podria esdevenir un dels mètodes més eficaços per al control de males herbes perennes. L'objectiu inicial d'aquest treball ha estat estudiar l'efecte de l'hydromulch en els rizomes de 4 espècies vegetals perennes considerades males herbes (Cynodon dactylon, Cyperus rotundus, Paspalum dilatatum i Sorghum halepense). Es vol estudiar si l'hydromulch és capaç d'inhibir el rebrot d'aquests propàguls, i en cas de que no sigui així, quantificar la proporció de brots que emergeixen penetrant-lo. L'hydromulch està composat per pasta de paper, palla, fibra Kraft i guix. S'aprofitarà també per estudiar la duresa d'aquesta barreja en diferents humitats. Els resultats de l'experiment no han estat del tot els esperats, ja que molts dels brots dels rizomes han emergit lateralment, entre el límit de l'hydromulch i el plàstic dels contenidors on es van fer els experiments. Hem observat que l'hydromulch no inhiveix el rebrot dels rizomes d'aquestes espècies vegetals. Totes elles han pogut perforar-lo, però P. dilatatum ho ha fet en més proporció que la resta d'espècies. El volum d'hydromulch aplicat és una variable important per al seu rendiment. Hem observat que aplicant 4.44 ml d'hydromulch per cm2 de superfície, el nombre de perforacions es redueixen a més de la meitat que aplicant 2.22 ml/cm2. No sabem si els rizomes que han emergit lateralment haguessin penetrat l'hydromulch si no haguessin pogut emergir lateralment. Per tant, no es pot valorar si l'hydromulch ofereix prou resistència als brots de plantes rizomatoses, per a que sigui considerat una eina útil per al control d'aquestes.

The present study is based on the idea that Ustilago syntherismae may be useful to control the population of Digitaria sanguinalis. Our aim was to check the influence of several variables in the infection; the size of the spikelets (big /small), the burying depth (1 cm / 3 cm), the cohort and the pattern of germination that they follow (radicular / coleoptilar). The followed process implied carrying two studies. In the first, done in Petri dishes, the burying depth was not considered nor the cohort. In the second, done in pots, burying depth and cohort were variables to be taken into account, but the germination pattern was not. The study was carried out in different phases; the first focused on the vacuum infiltration method from U. syntherismae to D. sanguinalis, followed by the planting phase of the spikelets, the next phase was staining, with observation as the final phase. The results of the first test allowed for the confirmation with a level of relevance of 0.05 that the size of the seeds influenced the infection, being higher in small spikelets rather than in big ones. Similarly, the influence of the germination pattern was rejected. In the second test, in spite of not achieving sufficient data to check how the different variables under study had any influence on the infection, it could be note how the burying depth, the infiltration and the size of the seeds conditioned the germination of the spikelets and the seeding emergence. In this case, also with a level of relevance of 0.05, that the burying depth had an important effect both on the germination and the seeding emergence could be demonstrated. The variable of size did not show any significant differences in the degree of infection of the seeds. On the other hand, there was some evidence that infiltration had a negative effect on the germination of the spikelets and the seeding emergence.

El present estudi es fonamenta en la idea que Ustilago syntherismae pot ser util per controlar les poblacions de Digitaria sanguinalis. Els objectius van ser estudiar la influencia de diferents variables en la infeccio; la mida de les espiguetes (gran / petita), la profunditat d'enterrament (1 cm / 3 cm), la cohort i el patro de germinacio que seguien (radicular / coleoptilar). El procediment seguit va comportar la realitzacio de dos estudis. En el primer, realitzat en plaques de Petri, no es va tenir en compte la profunditat d'enterrament ni la cohort. En el segon, realitzat en testos, la profunditat d'enterrament i la cohort eren variables a tenir en compte i no ho va ser el patro de germinacio. L'estudi es va realitzar en diferents fases; la primera centrada en el metode d'infiltracio al buit de U. syntherismae a D. sanguinalis, seguida d'una fase de sembra de les espiguetes, la fase seguent va ser la tincio i com a darrera fase l'observacio. Els resultats del primer assaig van permetre constatar amb un nivell de significacio del 0,05 que la mida de les llavors influia en la infeccio, essent mes alta en espiguetes petites que en grans. De la mateixa manera, es va rebutjar la influencia del patro de germinacio. En el segon assaig, tot i no haver pogut obtenir dades suficients per veure com influien les diferents variables estudiades en la infeccio, es va poder observar com la profunditat d'enterrament, la infiltracio i la mida de les llavors condicionaven la germinacio de les espiguetes i l'emergencia de les plantules. En aquest cas, tambe amb un nivell de significacio del 0,05, es va poder evidenciar que la profunditat d'enterrament tenia un efecte important tant en la germinacio de les espiguetes com en l'emergencia de les llavors. La variable mida no va mostrar diferencies significatives en el grau d'infeccio de les plantules. D'altra banda, hi va haver indicis que la infiltracio produia un efecte negatiu en la germinacio de les espiguetes i l'emergencia de les plantules.

Melon (Cucumis melo) is a highly valued crop in temperate and tropical climate regions. However, its production is limited by diseases that cause a decrease in productivity and the quality of the crop. Efforts to overcome these limitations do not stop growing and chemical treatments, despite being an accessible and economic resource, are control methods already known as dangerous for public health and for the conservation of the environment. Currently, these efforts are concentrating on developing varieties resistant to these diseases. The development of resistant varieties goes through the phenotypic and genetic analysis of these. The main objective of this work is the optimization of the parameters of PCR to determine the presence or absence of genetic regions linked to the resistance to pathogens in the cultivation of melon. In this work, three of the major pathologies in Cucumis melo culture are considered : Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis, MNSV (Spot Necrotic Melon Virus) and powdery mildew by Podosphaera xanthii and Golovinomyces cichoracearum. The genetic analysis of the varieties 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 provided by Rocalba S.A. through the use of molecular markers and the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) technique with 2,5% agarose gel electrophoresis. The molecular markers that have been used are SB17645, SV01574, Fom2-S342, Fom2-R408 and Marker F / f for Fusarium oxysporum; M29 for MNSV; CMBR120, CMBR8, MRGH5, MRGH63, Marker E, Marker D, SCAR0305 for powdery mildew. The primers are specific for each marker, as well as the annealing of the primers to the DNA is also specific and varies depending on the laboratory conditions. This work has optimized this temperature for each marker by comparing the results of the PCR with the results of the phenotypic analysis and the bibliography. The results of this work have shown that the Fom2-S342, Fom2-R408, MRGH5, MRGH63 and SCAR0305 markers will allow us to detect resistance to the corresponding pathogen in the studied melon varieties. The optimal annealing temperature for these markers has been established as well as the elongation time for some of them. This fact will allow the selection of resistant varieties for the following phases of the project.

El meló (Cucumis melo) és un cultiu altament valorat en regions de clima temperat i tropical. No obstant, la seva producció es veu limitada per malalties que provoquen una disminució de la productivitat i de la qualitat del cultiu. Els esforços per superar aquestes limitacions no paren de créixer i els tractaments químics, a pesar de ser un recurs accessible i econòmic, són uns mètodes de control ja coneguts com perillosos per a la salut pública i per a la conservació del medi ambient. Actualment, aquests esforços s'estan concentrant en desenvolupar varietats resistents a aquestes malalties. El desenvolupament de varietats resistents passa per l'anàlisi fenotípica i genètica d'aquestes. L'objectiu principal d'aquest treball és l'optimització dels paràmetres de PCR per determinar la presència o absència de regions gèniques vinculades a la resistència a patògens en el cultiu del meló. En aquest treball es tenen en compte tres de les majors patologies en el cultiu de Cucumis melo causades per : Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis , MNSV (Melon Necrotic Spot Virus) i oïdi per Podosphaera xanthii i per Golovinomyces cichoracearum. S'ha realitzat l'anàlisi genètic de les varietats 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,9, 10, 11, 12 i 13 proveïdes per Rocalba S.A. mitjançant l'ús de marcadors moleculars i la tècnica PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) amb electroforesi en gel d'agarosa al 2,5%. Els marcadors moleculars utilitzats han sigut SB17645, SV01574, Fom2-S342 , Fom2-R408 i Marker F/f per Fusarium oxysporum; M29 per MNSV; CMBR120, CMBR8, MRGH5, MRGH63, Marker E , Marker D, SCAR0305 per oïdi. Els encebadors són específics per cada marcador, així com la temperatura d'anellament dels encebadors a l 'ADN és també específica i varia en funció de les condicions del laboratori. Aquest treball ha optimitzat aquesta temperatura per cada marcador comparant els resultats de les PCR amb els resultats de l'anàlisi fenotípic i amb la bibliografía. Els resultats d'aquest treball han demostrat que els marcadors Fom2-S342 , Fom2-R408 , MRGH5, MRGH63 i SCAR0305 ens permetran detectar resistència al patogen corresponent en les varietats de meló estudiades. S'ha pogut establir la temperatura d'anellament òptima per a aquests marcadors així com el temps d'elongació per a alguns, el que permetrà en un futur la selecció de varietats resistents per a les següents fases del projecte.

This study analyzes the behavior of production of tomato plants growing outside. The varieties used are Anairis, Bodar, Borsalina, Durinta and Salper; we compare two different methods to guide the stem: the Tradicional method -a stem for plant- and method Cal Tupí -two stems for plant-. The parameters compared are the following: number of fruits for bunch, number of bunch to stem, the weight of each bunch and the caliber of the fruit; the latter setting only for the varieties Anairis, Bodar and Boralina. In general, the method of the stem guide is significant in any of the parameters analyzed in some varieties. When there is meaning, the average parameter is higher in the case of the Tradicional method. In variety Bodar, however, the method to guides the stem was not significant in any setting. As for the caliber, Anairis and Bodar varieties caliber present method superior in Cal Tupí; variety Borsalina, however, offers better gauge using Tradicional method. In the economic balance, the only variety where the balance is higher in the Cal Tupí method is the variety Durinta. The variety Salper equal results in both methods.

En aquest treball s'estudia el comportament de la producció de tomaqueres en cultiu d'exterior. Les varietats utilitzades són Anairis, Bodar, Borsalina, Durinta i Salper; s'encaren dos mètodes diferents d'entutoratge: el mètode tradicional -una tija per cada planta- i el mètode Cal Tupí -dues tiges per cada planta-. El paràmetres comparats són el nombre de fruits per pom, el nombre de poms per tija, el pes de cada pom, i el calibre dels fruits; aquest últim paràmetre només en el cas de les varietats Anairis, Bodar i Borsalina. En general el mètode d'entutoratge resulta significatiu en algun dels paràmetres analitzats en algunes varietats. Quan hi ha significació, la mitjana del paràmetre és més alta en el cas del mètode Tradicional que en el mètode Cal Tupí. En la varietat Bodar, però, el mètode d'entutoratge no ha estat significatiu en cap paràmetre. Pel que fa al calibre, les varietats Anairis i Bodar presenten calibres superiors en el mètode Cal Tupí; la varietat Borsalina, en canvi, ofereix millors calibres seguint el mètode Tradicional. En el balanç econòmic, l'única varietat on el balanç és superior en el mètode Cal Tupí és en la varietat Durinta. La varietat Salper iguala els resultats en els dos mètodes.

SUMMARY Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is the second most important vegetable worldwide, just below potatoes. In Spain, this crop is economically and socially relevant as it generates wealth and employment. Tomato production systems have been diversified in order to increase yields, incorporating new technologies such as plastic covers and drip irrigation. The type of training applied to the plant is a determining factor in maximizing the production of tomatoes in greenhouses. Typically, the horticultural company Cal Tupí d'Olives uses a double stem management, whereas traditional methods generally use a single stem. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the number of stems on production in order to quantify economic results. To this end, two types of management have been tested with respect to the number of stems per tomato plant: the traditional system or TR, with one stem per plant, and the system used at Cal Tupí d'Olives, with two stems per plant, for four hybrid commercial varieties (Anairis, Borsalina, Durinta y Salper). The Borsalina and Durinta varieties do not reveal significant differences in reference to average yields obtained per plant (kg/plant) whether one or two stems are left on the plants. In contrast, significant differences were noted according to the number of stems with the Anairis and Salper varieties, with greater yields when applying a single stem. On the basis of an economic analysis, Durinta y Borsalina varieties present a favorable gross margin when using two stems, 5,130 /plant and 4,335 /plant respectively, rather than using a single stem. On the contrary, with Salper and Anairis varieties, economic yields are higher using a single stem, 5,074 /plant and 13,459 /plant respectively, as opposed to two stems. Resum A nivell mundial, la tomaquera (Solanum lycopersicum L.) és la segona hortalissa de major importància per darrera de la patatera. A Espanya, el cultiu cobra rellevància econòmica i social en generar riquesa econòmica i ocupació. Els sistemes de producció d'aquesta hortalissa s'han anat diversificant amb la finalitat d'incrementar el rendiment, incorporant tecnologies noves com a cobertes plàstiques i reg per degoteig. El tipus de conducció de la planta és un factor determinant per maximitzar la producció de tomàquets d'hivernacle. De manera habitual a l'empresa hortícola Cal Tupí d'Olives el tipus de maneig sobre el número de guies terminals que es practica és el de deixar-ne dues guies, mentre que de manera tradicional es sol usar una guia. L'objecte d'aquest estudi és analitzar l'efecte del número de guies terminals sobre la producció i quantificar-ne els resultats econòmics. Amb aquest objectiu s'han assajat dos tipus de maneig en quant a número de guies terminals per tomaquera: sistema tradicional o TR amb una guia terminal per planta i el sistema de Cal Tupí o TCT, amb dues guies terminals per planta) per a quatre varietats comercials híbrides de tomaquera ( Anairis, Borsalina, Durinta i Salper). Les varietats Borsalina i Durinta no presenten diferències significatives en referència als rendiments mitjans obtinguts per planta (kg fuit/planta) segons es deixin una o dues guies terminals a les tomaqueres. En canvi, sí que s'ha observat diferències significatives segons el número de guies de la planta en les varietats Anairis i Salper, amb rendiments més favorables quan només se'ls deixa una guia terminal. En base a l'anàlisi econòmica, Durinta i Borsalina presenten un marge brut més favorable quan s'usa la tècnica a dues tiges, respectivament, 5,130 /planta i 4,335 /planta, que deixant-ne una. Ans al contrari, en les varietats Salper i Anairis el rendiment econòmic és més elevat en usar la tècnica a una guia terminal, respectivament 5,074 /planta i 13,459 /planta, que no pas a dues. D. sanguinalis is considered to be a weed that causes crop economic losses around the world. U. syntherismae is a fungus that, when infects D. sanguinalis may cause the substitution of the inflorescences by a mass of spores (smut). This ability is interesting because it could reduce population densities and reduce the effect on the crops. On the other hand, it has been observed that some Glomerals may reduce D. sanguinalis growth. In this project, the main focus has been to study the interaction between these elements and burial depth, that it is believed that may be an influent parameter in the interaction U.syntherismae-D. sanguinalis. In order to proceed, seeds of D. sanguinalis were in touch with U.syntherismae spores through the vacuum method. Seeds were put at different burial depth (1,5cm and 4cm) and put into a germination chamber (12h light 30ºC/ 12h dark 20ºC). Through the irrigation Glomerales were introduced in a suspension made of spores and distilled water. Six weeks later, plants were processed. To verify if U.syntherismae was into the plant, the stem base was cleared in a 10% KOH and stained with toluidine blue. To observe if roots had been incorporated Glomerales, they were cleared with the same solution and they were stained in a 5% ink-vinegar solution. Slides were prepared and observed with the optical microscope. The results showed that at 1,5cm burial depth, with respect to 4cm, a high number of plants were infected by U.syntherismae, formed mycorrhizal association, and emerged and survived. Moreover, adding endomycorrhizal fungi was not traduced in an increment to number of smut infected plants. However, U.syntherismae establishment was associated to a lower plant mycorrhization.

D. sanguinalis és considerada una mala herba que provoca pèrdues econòmiques als cultius arreu del món. Ustilago syntherismae és un fong que, quan infecta a D. sanguinalis pot provocar la substitució de les seves inflorescències per masses d'espores (carbó). La capacitat d'aquest fong té interès ja que podria reduir-ne les densitats de població i minvar el seu efecte sobre els cultius. D'altra banda, s'ha observat que alguns Glomerals poden reduir el creixement de D. sanguinalis. En aquest treball s'ha volgut estudiar la interacció entre tots aquests elements i la profunditat d'enterrament, que es creu que també pot ser un actor influent en la interacció U.syntherismae-D. sanguinalis. Per fer-ho es van posar en contacte llavors de D. sanguinalis amb espores de U.syntherismae mitjançant el mètode d'infiltració al buit. Es van col·locar les llavors a diferents profunditats (1,5cm i 4cm) i es van situar a la cambra de germinació (12h llum 30ºC/ 12h foscor 20ºC). Mitjançant el reg es van introduir els Glomerals a través d'una suspensió d'espores en aigua destil·lada. Passades 6 setmanes es van processar les plantes. Per observar si hi havia presència de U.syntherismae la base de la tija es va transparentar amb KOH al 10% i es va tenyir amb blau de toluïdina. Per a observar si hi havia Glomerals les arrels es van transparentar en la mateixa solució i es van tenyir amb una solució de tinta i acètic 5%. Es van muntar les preparacions i es van observar al microscopi. Els resultats van mostrar que a la profunditat d'1,5cm hi va haver més plantes que van infectar-se de U.syntherismae, més que es formar micorizes i que van emergir i sobreviure, respecte a 4cm. També va resultar que el fet d'incorporar fongs endomicorízics no augmentava el nombre de plantes infectades amb carbó. En canvi, l'establiment d' U.syntherismae si que estava associat a una disminució en la micorizació de les plantes.

Nephrolepis cordifolia (L.) K. Presl is a vivacious plant from Australia used in ornamental during 70's and 80's in Europe and United States. Nowadays in disuse in ornamental. Nowadays is considerate invasive specie in the USA, New Zeeland and some Pacific archipelago. In Catalonia there is 1 U.T.M (10*10km square) with presence of wild N. cordifolia. There isn't any plan or measure for this specie treated like invasive in other parts of the planet. With this experimental project tried to study two types of vegetative multiplication of the fern N. cordifola: These technics were the extraction of tubers and the extraction of parts of rhizome in different steadies of growth. We extracted 60 tubers and 60 rhizomes with more than one photosynthetic active frond. The experiment took 3 months long, the two first months with the vegetable material in de field and the 3th when the processing of the results and the statistics analytics were done. During the two first months the experiment was emplaced in the installations of Isart Horticultors S.L. a vivacious plant nursery located in Sant Just Desvern where this specie of fern (among others) are cultivated for ornamental use. What we want to contrast with this experiment is the next hypothesis: The fertilization with ammonium nitrate affects in the number of fronds (or their characters) which grow from a tuber or rhizome. The objectives of the work were: - To know and test two methods of the vegetative multiplication of the fern specie N. cordifolia. - To value the effect of the fertilization in the growth of the propagule. - To provide alternatives, if is necessary, in the technics of vegetative multiplication of the fern N. cordifolia did in the company. - To study the plant morphology searching relations between different parameters indicators of growth photosynthetic capacity or biomass.

Nephrolepis cordifolia (L.) K. Presl és una planta vivaç originària d'Austràlia molt utilitzada com a ornamental durant la dècada dels 70 i 80 a Europa i els Estats Units. Actualment en desús ornamental. Avui en dia es considera una espècie invasora a gran part dels EUA, Nova Zelanda i diversos arxipèlags del pacífic. A Catalunya, hi ha 1 U.T.M. (quadricula 10*10km) amb presència de N. cordifolia silvestre. No hi ha cap pla ni mesura de seguiment especificat referent a aquesta espècie catalogada com a invasora a altres parts del planeta. Amb aquest treball experimental s'han volgut estudiar dues tècniques de multiplicació vegetativa de l'espècie de falguera ornamental N. cordifola. Aquestes dues tècniques han estat l'extracció de tubercles per una banda i de parts de rizoma en diferents estadis de creixement per un altre. S'han extret 60 tubercles i 60 rizomes amb com a mínim una fronde fotosintèticament activa. L'experiment ha durat un total de 3 mesos, dos en els que el material vegetal ha estat a camp i un 3r en que s'ha fet el processament de resultats i l'anàlisi estadístic d'aquest. Durant els 2 primers mesos l'experiment ha estat emplaçat a les instal·lacions de l'empresa Isart Horticultors S.L. un viver de planta vivaç situat a Sant Just Desvern on cultiven aquesta espècie de falguera (entre altres) per a ús ornamental. El que s'ha volgut contrastar amb aquest experiment és la següent hipòtesi: L'adobat amb nitrat d'amoni afecta al nombre de frondes (o característiques d'aquestes) que desenvoluparà un rizoma o tubercle. Els objectius que s'ha proposat per aquest treball han estat: - Conèixer i provar dos mitjans de multiplicació vegetativa de l'espècie de falguera N. cordifolia. - Avaluar l'efecte de l'adobat sobre el creixement inicial dels propàguls - Aportar alternatives, si s'escau, a la tècnica de multiplicació vegetativa de la falguera N. cordifolia que és duu a terme al viver. - Abordar l'estudi de la morfologia de les plantes buscant relacions entre diferents paràmetres indicadors de creixement, capacitat fotosintètica i biomassa.

The stated work talks about the establishment of a disinfecting protocol that is able to get the in vitro culture of Arctostaphylos uva-ursi. All plant materials used came from their natural environment. Four different tests were done. The first one was disinfected with sodium hypochlorite with 1% of active chlorine and it was proved the provenance effect in cultured media formulated with a variation on the hormone growth type (Benzyl-aminopurine (BAP), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and 3-indolebutyric acid (IBA)) and one control media. It was used on the apical zone of the plant material with the two youngest leaves. The second test, taking in account either the provenance, was proved the disinfection effect with ethanol (80% a few seconds) followed by sodium hypochlorite (2% of active chlorine) for 35 minutes. In that test peeled buds and internodes were used. The third test increased the time of contact between plant material and disinfectant solution and some treatments with more doses of active chlorine were done. In this case the plant's material used was peeled buds and internodes. In the last test the disinfection effect of sodium dichloroisocyanurate (NaDCC) vs. sodium hypochlorite was tested. It was done through different treatments (E1: 500 ppm NaDCC 24 hours; E2: 15.000 ppm NaDCC 1hour; E3: sodium hypochlorite 1% of active chlorine 1 hour) plus the application of ethanol at 80% in peeled buds and internodes. In this test the media was formulated with low doses of NaDCC. Every culture media were made from the basal medium of Murashige and Skoog (1962) and it was used as a solidified agar. Results from the first tests showed high levels of contaminations and the necrosis of plant material. On the last test, the contaminations had decreased considerably at treatments E1 and E2 and viable peeled buds were obtained. Peeled buds had shown less probability of being infected than the internodes. Sodium hypochlorite was not a good disinfection treatment for that specie with that doses and time exposed used on those tests.

El present Treball Final de Grau tracta d'establir un protocol de desinfecció de l'espècie Arctostaphylos uva-ursi per la seva introducció in vitro. Tot el material vegetal que va ser introduït procedia del seu hàbitat natural. Es van realitzar quatre assajos diferents. En el primer es va desinfectar amb hipoclorit de sodi al 1% de clor actiu i es va testar l'efecte origen del material vegetal en medis de cultiu formulats amb diferents hormones de creixement (Benzil-aminopurina (BAP), àcid 3-indolacètic (AIA) i l'àcid 3-indolbutíric (AIB)) i un medi control. Com a font d'explanació s'utilitzà la zona apical del material vegetal amb les dues fulles més joves. En el segon assaig, tenint en compte també l'efecte origen, es va procedir a una desinfecció amb etanol (80% pocs segons) seguida d'una amb hipoclorit sòdic (2% clor actiu). En aquest assaig es van utilitzar entrenusos i gemmes pelades. En el tercer assaig es va augmentar el temps de contacte del material vegetal amb la solució desinfectant i es va realitzar algun tractament amb una dosi més elevada de clor actiu. En aquest cas el material vegetal emprat van ser gemmes pelades i entrenusos. En l'últim assaig es va comprovar l'efecte de la desinfecció amb diclorocianurat de sodi (NaDCC) en front el hipoclorit de sodi. Es van realitzar diferents tractaments (E1: 500 ppm NaDCC 24 hores; E2: 15.000 ppm NaDCC 1hora; E3: Lleixiu en 1% de clor actiu 1 hora) més la utilització d'etanol al 80%, en gemmes pelades i entrenusos. També es va formular medi de cultiu amb NaDCC. Tots els medi de cultiu es van elaborar a partir del medi base de Murashige i Skoog (1962) i es va emprar com a gelificant agar. En els tres primers assajos els resultats van mostrar un elevat nombre de contaminacions fúngiques i la necrosi del material vegetal. En el darrer assaig les contaminacions van disminuir notablement en els tractaments E1 i E2 i es varen obtenir gemmes pelades viables. Les gemmes pelades han presentat un risc menor de contaminació enfront els entrenusos. L'hipoclorit de sodi no ha resultat, amb les dosis i temps assajats, un bon tractament desinfectant per a aquesta espècie.

In this project, the interaction between the fitopathogen fungus Ustilago syntherismae and the plant at which it infects, Digitaria sanguinalis, has been studied. U. syntherismae has a drastic effect on the reproduction of D. sanguinalis because it causes an important reduction in the spikelet production. This fact is because the smut is formed in the plant's inflorescence replacing spikelets by a spore mass. This project has been mainly focused on a stage which is considered essential in the knowledge of the pathosystem: the infection phase. An experiment was made in order to determine if the virulence of the fungus during infection phase varies according to the spikelet and spore type which are interacting. In addition, it was studied whether the germination pattern (radicular or coleoptilar) had an effect in the infection grade. Two types of spikelets were used; some came from apparently disease-free plants (carrying only spikelets) and the others came from partly smutted plants (carriers of splikelets and spores). Furthermore, two types of fungus spores were also used; some came from completely smutted plants (carriers of only spores) and some from partly smutted plants. A vacuum infiltration method was used to facilitate the in vitro contact of spikelets and spores in order to induce the interaction between the plant and the fungus artificially. Inoculated seedlings were dyed and observed with the optical microscope to verify the existence of fungus in their tissues. The experiment was divided into two assays: one with material collected in 2009 and the other with material collected in 2011. These two assays showed that significant differences (P<0,05) exist in the virulence of the two types of U. syntherismae spores used. The seedling inoculated with spores coming from completely smutted plants showed significantly higher infection percentages. It cannot be said that the spikelets type was a significant source of variation (P<0,05) in the infection percentages of seedlings. In relation to the seedlings infection degree, it is not possible to say that significant differences (P<0,05) exist depending on the seedling germination pattern (radicular or coleoptilar). Seedlings with a radicular pattern of germination reach a higher average mesocotil length than those with coleoptilar pattern of germination.

En aquest treball s'ha estudiat la interacció del fong fitopatogen del grup dels carbons Ustilago syntherismae amb la planta a la qual infecta, Digitaria sanguinalis. U. syntherismae té un efecte dràstic en la reproducció de D. sanguinalis ja que causa una important reducció en la producció de llavors. Aquest fet és degut a que, en aquest patosistema, el carbó es forma a la inflorescència de la planta, substituint les espiguetes per una massa d'espores. Concretament s'ha centrat l'estudi en una fase que es considera fonamental en el coneixement d'aquest patosistema: la infecció. Es va fer un experiment amb la finalitat de conèixer si la virulència del fong en el moment de la infecció varia segons el tipus d'espigueta i el tipus d'espora que interactuen. A més es va estudiar si el patró de germinació de la plàntula (radicular o coleoptilar) té algun efecte en el grau d'infecció. Es van emprar dos tipus d'espiguetes, unes provenien de plantes aparentment sanes (portadores només d'espiguetes) i les altres de plantes parcialment encarbonades (portadores tant d'espiguetes com d'espores). A més també s'utilitzaren dos tipus d'espores del fong, unes provinents de plantes completament encarbonades (portadores només d'espores) i les altres provinents de plantes parcialment encarbonades. S'utilitzà un mètode d'infiltració al buit per facilitar el contacte in vitro de les espiguetes i les espores i així induir artificialment la interacció entre la planta i el fong. Les plàntules inoculades es tenyiren i s'observaren al microscopi òptic per comprovar l'existència de fong en els seus teixits. L'experiment es va dividir en dos assajos, en el primer es va utilitzar material recol·lectat el 2009 i en el segon s'utilitzà material del 2011. Amb aquests assajos, es constatà que existeixen diferències significatives (P<0,05) en la virulència de les espores de U. syntherismae dels dos tipus utilitzats. Els percentatges d'infecció de les plàntules inoculades amb espores provinents de plantes totalment encarbonades van ser significativament superiors. Pel que fa al tipus d'espiguetes, no es pot afirmar que els resultats mostrin diferències significatives (P<0,05) en el grau d'infecció de les plàntules segons aquest factor. En relació al grau d'infecció de les plàntules, no és possible dir que existeixen diferències significatives (P<0,05) segons el patró de germinació (radicular o coleoptilar). Les plàntules amb patró de germinació radicular assoleixen una longitud del mesocòtil mitjana superior a la de les plàntules amb patró de germinació coleoptilar.
