Honey is an ancient food with many benefits, both for health and for the conservation of biodiversity. Its composition depends on various factors such as the type of plant and the climate. However, confidence in its quality is being affected by the appearance of adulterated honey. According to the latest report from the European Commission¿s Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), almost half of the honey imported into the European Union is adulterated. Thus, one of the main challenges for beekeepers is to ensure their authenticity. That is why, throughout this work, different analyzes are carried out to understand the sector, as well as a solution proposal applying an immutable traceability system to identify fraud in the honey chain, known as Block- chain. Although its application will be carried out through an experiment led by members belonging to a European project, called Techoney. In this work, the results of its acceptance obtained through interviews and a focus group, with individuals related to the sector, will be presented. These results will show the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of said system. As well as a discussion of them with the aim of helping beekeepers and their product to prosper in the beekeeping sector.

La mel és un aliment mil·lenari amb molts beneficis, tant per a la salut com per a la conservació de la biodiversitat. La seva composició depèn de diversos factors com el tipus de planta i el clima. Tot i això, la confiança envers la seva qualitat s'està veient afectada per l'aparició de mels adulterades. Segons l'últim informe de l'European Commission's Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), gairebé la meitat de la mel importada a la Unió Europea és adulterada. Així, un dels principals desafiaments dels apicultors és assegurar-ne l'autenticitat. És per això que al llarg d'aquest treball es duen a terme diferents anàlisis per comprendre el sector, així com una proposta de solució aplicant un sistema de traçabilitat immutable per identificar fraus a la cadena de la mel, conegut com a Blockchain. Tot i que la seva aplicació s'efectuarà mitjançant un experiment liderat per membres pertanyents a un projecte europeu, anomenat Techoney. En aquest treball s'exposaran els resultats de la seva acceptació obtingudes mitjançant entrevistes i grup focal, amb individus relacionats amb el sector. Aquests resultats mostren les principals fortaleses, debilitats, oportunitats i amenaces d'aquest sistema. Així com una discussió dels mateixos amb l'objectiu d'ajudar els apicultors i el seu producte a prosperar al sector apícola.

Su composición depende de diversos factores como el tipo de planta y el clima. Sin embargo, la confianza hacia su calidad se está viendo afectada por la aparición de mieles adulteradas. Según el último informe de la European Commission¿s Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), casi la mitad de la miel importada a la Unión Europea es adulterada. Así, uno de los principales desafíos de los apicultores es asegurar su autenticidad. Es por ello, que a lo largo de este trabajo se llevan a cabo diferentes análisis para comprender el sector, así como una propuesta de solución aplicando un sistema de trazabilidad inmutable para identificar fraudes en la cadena de la miel, conocido como Blockchain. Aunque su aplicación se efectuará mediante un experimento liderado por miembros pertenecientes a un proyecto europeo, denominado Techoney. En este trabajo se expondrán los resultados de su aceptación obtenidas mediante entrevistas y un grupo focal, con individuos relacionados con el sector. Estos resultados mostrarán las principales fortalezas, debilidades, oportunidades y amenazas de dicho sistema. Así como una discusión de los mismos con el objetivo de ayudar a los apicultores y a su producto a prosperar en el sector apícola.
