In this project, done in the business sector, is carried out the study of the applications of ICT technologies in two cases placed in the agriculture and livestock sectors, supported by a preliminary economic study. The first case is about optimizing the performance of a farm for growing pigs and de second case designes and automatizes an irrigation system for almond trees. In the first case are used sensors and wiring actuators for temperature control of a farm and activates the ventilation system. In this case, it's studied and executed the power system implementation using photovoltaic collectors. In the second case, the sensors have been used to control humidity, temperature and conductivity of an agricultural land and the control of the volume of water of the tank irrigation. Some of these sensors use Zigbee wireless technology for communications between agriculutral land sensors and a central controller, for activation of the irrigation system.

During 2015, it's expected to take over 1 billion photos. The 80% of these photos will be take using smartphones. Most photos will be stored and forgotten in digital media. And only a few will be printed. But, what happened to the typical picture frames? In this final work, it has been observed that there may be a niche or group of people who need a framed photo service in the photo printing market. Consequently, during this work it has been conceived, designed and developed a telematics service and framed photographic printing using a client-server architecture and agile methodologies applied during development. As client, it has been developed an application for iOS devices with the functions and resources needed to carry out orders. As server, four entities have been enabled to provide information consultation services, facilitate communications management, in addition to record and rocess the information generated by the user. For the full implementation of the service, there has been done a market research, designed the product, analyzed its feasibility and identified actions to promote and launch the service. Throughout the project, it has been used two agile methodologies: Lean Startup for design part and Scrum to manage the overall development of the service. As a result of this work, it has been created the beta version of the service with the capabilities and resources identified as vital to its implementation.

The aim of this project is to provide a solution to two scalability issues that arise in big computation infraestructures: Inefficient resources utilization in the data center and the increase of the management complexity. Regarding fleets of servers, you don't have to go back far in time to verify that both configuration management and resources allocation polices have evolved very fast. The server is no longer the gravitation center and the data center consolidates as the new abstraction layer where computation happens. This project presents two platforms in simbiosis, the bootstrapping platform and the exploitation platform. The former is used to bootstrapp and manage the latter, which in turn unifies the data center resources and performs dynamic resources allocation based on demand. The project has a balanced effort of design, development and integration phases. The exploitation platform is larger in terms of number of components however, it just required an integration effort. All the building blocks are detailed in the project as well as its functions and its interactions. Despite being the smaller one, the bootstrapping platform requires the higher design and development efforts. The project ends with an installation guide that helps the reader to deploy a bootstrapping platform which in turn can be used to deploy an exploitation platform.

Actualmente Internet se ha convertido en una parte indispensable de nuestras vidas y nos proporciona herramientas que ayudan a tomar decisiones en el mundo real. Con cualquier dispositivo móvi l, desde la palma de la mano y las 24 ho ras del día, se pueden consultar el precio de un artículo, las valoraciones de un restaurante o la mejor ruta para salir en bicicleta. En este escenario, la aplicación desarrollada en este TFC, “Soy de la EETAC”, proporciona información sobre la evolución laboral de los titulados de “l'Escola d'Enginyeria de Telecomunicació i Aeroespacial de Castelldefels” , para promocionar la calidad docente de la escuela y aumentar su prestigio mostrando la actual capacidad profesional de sus exalumnos. El proyecto incl uye el desarrollo de un sistema con arquitectura cliente / servidor. El servidor se encarga de recopilar información de diversas fuentes acces ibles libremente desde Internet generando información estadística de los titulados de la escuela , como su experien cia, su movilidad geográfica y su actual puesto de trabajo . A su vez, genera una interfaz de comunicación para proporcionar esta información a terceros. En el otro extremo, el cliente, utiliza esta interfaz y es capaz de hacer llegar estos datos a cualqu ier visitante mediante Internet , a través de cualquier dispositivo como mó viles, tabletas y ordenadores de manera intuitiva y agradable

En el presente trabajo se realiza una revisión del estado del arte de realidad virtual y realidad aumentada , dispositivos de entrada y salida , y tecnología háptica con el objetiv o de ver de qué manera contribuye la háptica en la Interacción Persona - Computadora . El punto de partida del proyecto es el auge que están viviendo tecnologías como realidad virtual o realidad aumentada por un lado y la tecnología háptica por otro. Este au ge muestra el gran salto tenológico, en términos de madurez, entre los dispositives audivisuales (HMD, Head - mounted display , casco s o gafes de realidad virtual ) y los dispositives hápticos, aún de poco desarrollo para el usuario masivo. En la actualidad l a tecnología parece haber alcanzado la madurez suficiente, en términos de hardware y en software para la generación de entornos virtuales para el uso práctico por el público masivo y no especializado . Aun así, la sensación de inmersión que obtenemos no sie mpre resulta del todo completa ya que podemos ver, podemos oír, pero no podemos tocar. La necesidad actual de que estos sistemas sean cada vez más realistas obliga a introducir el sentido del tacto aumentando de forma considerable nuestra inmersión en ento rnos virtuales. Así pues, la tecnología háptica, se presenta como un paso natural a todas estas novedades audiovisuales, jugando un papel esencial a la hora de construir y manipular escenarios y objetos virtuales. Una vez realizada una revisión del est ado del arte, se realiza un diseño conceptual de un sistema de entrada y salida basado en háptica para llevar a cabo una implementación práctica de la solución y analizar los resultados obtenidos mediante la realización de ensayos y pruebas

In hospital centers, informatic systems are of paramount importance in order to trace patients and register their medical tests and diagnostics. However, it is frequently very hard to integrate systems from different manufacturers due to the lack of cooperation among companies. The goal of this work is to design a module to overcome the incompatibility between Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and traceability systems (middleware) used in a pharmaceutical company.

In this project we have tried to pick an already existing software solution and give it new features as well as integrating it with third party services, maintaining the freeware philosophy it had since its beginning. The main goal, anyway, is not to further extend the development of the application's core (the spreadsheet) but to boost its ability to communicate with other apps and services and to unify all the business intelligence and let the data flow. Most businesses run multiple applications (CRM, ERP, calendars...) that run independently and therefore have to lead with data type incompatibilities, loss of data and in consequence a decrease in economical profits. Integrating our services has many advantages, such as said flow of information between programs and people, consolidating our data storage and getting rid of duplicated resources or avoiding slow data allocation and access. The result of our investigation and development is an improved business opportunity flow whose stages are fully covered in a managing site where the user can check incoming opportunities, update economic data, keep track of his daily tasks and maintenance duties and also have a quick access to some useful reports which are updated in real time as sales go by. This system is fully builded upon free resources, which means that with a simple setup the end user can benefit of our solution with no economic expense while saving also time and headaches. Furthermore, this project in his «final» state still shows a huge potential for connecting to many other free services in the future, such as financial services, newsletter and marketing tools, booking engines, social media, business reviewing websites, invoicing apps... its scalability and low maintenance make it a good starting point in case someone wants to extend it or customize it even more.

The regulation of telecommunications is intended to guarantee essential public service for all societies. And the Internet, as a significant part of telecommunications, does not escape from this need. The fight against dominant suppliers, ensuring fair competition, guaranteeing the rights of users and promoting innovation, are objectives that are sought when regulating the telecommunications sector. We wanted to study some relevant aspects, with information and facts, in order to be used in teaching. We start with the different sources of law that legislators can use to regulate a matter abstractly, according to the principle of legislative and normative hierarchy. The general rule in Spais is the General Telecommunications Law, and this document aims to make an analysis from the perspective of suppliers of Internet services. This law was amended in 2014. But operators have other obligations, as stipulated in the law of conservation of data, beyond what is strictly the business of telecommunications. They are forced to make heavy investments to store users data for a certain period of time as regulated, in order to provide judicial authorities with them if they have to use them to prevent or investigate cases of terrorism or serious crime. This obligation, that was born following the terrorist attacks of 2001, and in order to ensure safety and prevent it from happening again, has been stumbled upon the reef of the Court of Justice of the European Union. Another need that deserves its regulation, is to preserve the Internet as a neutral network where all services can reach users alike. These new regulations in most cases are under discussion, such as in the European Union, while in other parts of the world already raised legal issues, such as the United States. New regulations, which appeared recently, aimed at preserving copyrighted digital content more effectively. The crimes of digital piracy have been reviewed in the Spanish Penal Code, and new attitudes, that so far escaped the criminal action such as links compilation webs, are now punishable since this summer. Finally, the document takes a look at the legislative changes that are planned for the near future in the European Union. They will come by the hand of the to single digital market initiative, and this changes will affect us in the coming months.

OMNeT++ és un simulador de xarxes basat en codi lli ure, la versió comercial d'aquest programari es diu OMNEST. És un dels simul adors de xarxes més populars a la comunitat acadèmica i de recerca. Aquest projecte té com objectiu analitzar el simula dor de xarxes OMNeT++, basant-nos en l'última de les propostes de l'estànd ard IEEE 802.11 que suporta aquest simulador, que és la 802.11n. Aquesta propos ta de l'estàndard està parcialment implementada en el framework INET, en l a versió 3.0 que data a 1 de juliol de 2015. Aquest projecte consta de diferents capítols començ ant per una explicació de l'evolució de les propostes de l'estàndard IEEE 802 .11, on s'inclou un apartat en el qual es desenvolupa el càlcul de throughput teòr ic en 802.11n. Es fa també una introducció al OMNeT++ i una comparació dels di ferents frameworks que inclouen funcionalitats sense fils. Amb aquesta com paració és on s'ha escollit el framework que més funcionalitats suporta amb 802.11 n. Finalment es realitza l'avaluació del simulador a n ivell pràctic, simulant diferents escenaris i modificant molts dels seus paràmetres p er estudiar el comportament i la fiabilitat del programari en aquestes comunica cions, sempre basant-nos i contrastant amb el desenvolupament teòric del throu ghput. La virtualización nos permite reducir costes tanto en empresas, en casa o en los centros educativos. Si, además, la virtualización nos permite ayudar a profundizar en los conocimientos adquiridos en los estudios relacionados con las telecomunicaciones, debemos maximizar su uso en los citados ámbitos. En este Trabajo de Final de Carrera se introducirán los c onceptos básicos de la virtualización, así como los diferentes métodos y soluciones de software de virtualización existentes en la actualidad. Además, se profundizará en los diferentes emuladores que permiten diseñar y estudiar escenarios de red, así como las soluciones de software que trabajan sobre ellos. De entre todos los posibles candidatos para ser la base de creación de las prácticas docentes, el elegido es NetKit, que ofrece sencillez de instalación y uso, así como una amplia variedad de protocolo s y aplicaciones soportados. NetKit, el software sobre el que crearemos los escenarios de red, trabaja sobre UML (User - Mode Linux), un emulador de aplicaciones, y permite crear elementos de red virtuales para formar redes telemáticas de forma simple y cóm oda, para poder crear diferentes laboratorios o prácticas docentes c on los que probar protocolos y aplicaciones que se estudian en los estudios relacionados con las telecomunicaciones. Los laboratorios probados en este documento son altamente escalables y configurables, permitiendo ejecutarlos, analizarnos o modificarlos de forma sencilla

Las redes de conmutación de paquetes han experimentado un aumento continuo tanto de usuarios cómo de tráfico. Debido a su coste, las redes no pueden ampliarse constantemente, sino que deben aprovecharse mejor los recursos de la red, desviando el tráfico por enlaces menos congestionados. Por esto es necesario el estudio e implantación de nuevos algoritmos de ingeniería de tráfico, con el objetivo de optimizar mejor los recursos y poder alojar una mayor cantidad de tráfico en la misma red. El estudio de nuevos algoritmos implica la realización de pruebas en un medio experimental, para comprobar si ofrecen mejoras respecto a otros. Para ello es necesario o bien realizar pruebas en la misma red, con las dificultades técnicas y de seguridad que esto comporta, o bien realizar simulaciones de red con alguno de los programas existentes. En nuestro caso hemos decidido utilizar el programa Totem ya que es un software libre de código abierto

Les xarxes de comunicacions han experimentat un augment continu tant d'usuaris com de trànsit. Aquestes xarxes no poden ampliar-se constantment, raó per la qual és important fer recerca en l'optimització dels recursos, la disminució del cost i l'augment del seu rendiment. Per tant, és necessari l'estudi i implementació de nous algorismes de xarxa, amb l'objectiu de dissenyar, gestionar i planificar les xarxes per maximitzar la seva eficiència. Aquests algorismes poden proporcionar ajuda en el diagnòstic i maneig de la congestió a curt termini i, a llarg termini, poden convertir-se en un element clau en el disseny i dimensionat de la xarxa. L'estudi de nous algorismes implica la realització de proves per comprovar si ofereixen millores respecte a d'altres algorismes. Per a això, és necessari realitzar aquestes proves sobre la mateixa xarxa física, amb les dificultats tècniques i de seguretat que això comporta, o bé realitzar simulacions de xarxa amb l'ajuda d'algun dels programes existents. En el nostre cas hem decidit utilitzar el simulador Net2Plan, ja que és un programa lliure i de codi obert.

The purpose of this thesis is to explain how to design, elaborate and implement a Crisis Management Tool (CMT). CMT's gold is to improve and stimulate the decision-making process to the Management Board and to the CEO itself in case of crisis situation, we do understood crisis as fire, terrorist attack or any situation which interrupt the regular development of their daily tasks. A quick and accurate reaction to a crisis situation makes increase the percentage of success in front of an unforeseen catastrophe. Concerning the design itself, it must be highlighted that the tool has been roll out on a clear and essential premise: Easy, even it is not much used! The development of the Crisis Management tool (CMT) is enshrined in the Business Continuity Plan lifecycle. In this dissertation the main aim and the technical specifications considered for developing the CMT are detailed. CMT has been tested, a pilot version has been applied in a Crisis Management practice exercise for the Management Board of a real company, results are explained in this thesis. Finally, I have listed those aspect that have to be improved, those were identify while designing and testing the tool.

In this document you will be able to find theoretical and practicing information about how to use GNS3, a network simulator software. This document also contains some lines about the previous concepts that users must know before using this kind of applications, concepts like virtualization or IOS. You also can find some concepts or protocol descriptions in the document. Those descriptions are in the parts when new words or concepts appear. After the introduction part, you will find some steps informing about the different options that GNS3 have, how to configure them and how to work with them. In the whole document you can find some limitations that this network simulator have, every one of them is the specified part that are referred to, but obviously this document is focused on what GNS3 can do. At the end, you will see some practicing, simple examples about how to use the application. In the first exercise, a spanning tree protocol is configured. The objective is to check if GNS3 is able to adapt to topology changes after modifying the root switch or after shutting down an interface. The second practice is a VLAN scenario. There are two different VLANs configured and two methods to do it. You will be able to find both ways to configured and a connectivity test in each case. The third and last part is a backup connection configured with static routes. Once is configured, we'll make a ping to check if there is connection and once we have the answer, we'll disable the principal link while we're making a ping. We'll be able to see that the traffic stops going one way and starts using the backup link.

In an industry such demanding as the automotive one, where all big companies compete on a daily basis to get a greater market share than their competitors, there is a principle underlying to achieving the maximum profitability possible: looking for the best quality at the lowest possible cost. The aim of this project, performed at Johnson Controls Eurosit Barcelona Headquarters, is reinforcing the quality system for the detection and correction of defects in the finished product in order to fulfil some of the requirements stated on the corporate policies: the pursuit of excellence and the non-stop increasing of the quality standards. This Project seeks to achieve a more reliable, robust and accurate quality system. It also intends to improve the computerized traceability system to provide data management in real time, adapted to the needs of each situation analysis. All of the improvements and modifications are intended to achieve, as an ultimate goal, the reduction of the defects per seat to zero. Nowadays, the quality procedure involves a large number of manual operations: First, a few red moles are placed on the parts of the seat which are defective. After that, the operator records the defects data on a paper sheet. At last, the quality auditor introduces this information on the system. This means the human element is a major factor when evaluating. In order to minimise the human-error factor considerably, this system proposes the implementation of touchscreens in the workstations where the review is performed. The values will be recorded using a predefined list of defects, according to the model of seat being inspected. The seat information can be obtained from several ways: It can be obtained directly by reading the barcode label on the seat or by connecting to the Siemens PLC that manages the Assembly line operations. Once the defects are recorded and stored in the database, they will be displayed both in the subsequent repairing workstations and in the final verifications workstation. Additionally, the graphics of the production defects will also be shown all along the assembly line (they include the time and work shift where the defects have been produced). The reports of the defects and other statistics can be removed via Intranet.

Information and communications technology (ICT) has generated a great revolution in the way to access and transfer information. ICT has also created new communication paradigms. In particular, in the field of culture, this technological evolution allows for improving the interactivity between the user and the digital environment. It also permits to store and deliver cultural contents anywhere using the connectivity provided by communication networks and, especially, by wireless networks. Gamification is a technique that uses playful data feeds to offer contents that might be tedious in a more enjoyable manner. In this context, a game such as Geocatching helps offer cultural information about a very popular event in the city of Badalona; 'La cremada del dimoni'. On the other hand, there is a lack of knowledge about this festivity among the population. The Department of Culture of Badalona City Council has established an itinerary through the city -La Ruta del Dimoni- that explains in detail the history of the festivity previously mentioned - which dates back to 1940- and its evolution over time. However, the current Geocatching itinerary is done with GPS devices and papers and its management is quite complex. This project has analysed the current situation of the system and has developed a mobile phone application to simplify the ongoing operation of this system and offers significant improvements. That will be explained in this document

We consider this work, if the use of a simulation telematic tool, specific and previously chosen, enhances academic studies efficiently. In addition the use of these tools allows us to step beyond theory, manually configure the devices as well as overview how to manage telematic devices. To achieve the objective of this work, we propose studying diferent mechanisms of layer 2 in a simulated environment. The mechanisms studied are: Spanning-Tree, VLANs and Link Aggregation. Each mecanisn consists of a chapter. First a brief theoretical introduction to proposes a network topology. Once we have created the network at simulator, we apply a basic settings to devices. The tests allow us verifies the correct operation of the mechanism. If the results are satisfactory and the simulator allows us, we apply an advanced configuration of this mechanisms to different devices. To end each chapter we will present a comparison between the obtained results and the expected results. Also we present all the problems and limitations we have encountered during the study. To conclude the work, will assess whether the objective has been achieved and the use of this simulation tool can strengthen the theoretical knowledge.

This project presents the development process of a developer's portal for the AAAIDA project using AngularJS for the creation of the user interfaces and Vert.x for the backend. AAAIDA is a free hosted personal software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that provides a secure communications and record-sharing infrastructure for formal and informal quality of life. In order to improve this project, we present the development of a developers´ portal to provide external developers the required information and tools to use this service in their applications. The creation of this portal has required the development of various components: the user interface for the visitors and developers, an administration interface to manage the portal and the backend services necessary to manage their data. The user interfaces have been developed using the latest technology for creating web applications, with special attention to ensure its proper functioning and comprehensibility in the maximum typology of devices. The backend has been developed considering its scalability and extensibility to ensure its adaptability and compatibility with wide range of systems, given its nature as hub of communications between users, own databases and AAAIDA existing infrastructure.

The management of telecommunication networks is one of the critical activities made by network providers and their operators. New visualization tools allow the design, planning and administration and study of the time evolution of network behaviour in a user-friendly, intuitive and simple way. The aim of this project is to contribute to the design of the visualization tools aforementioned. This document includes, first of all, a study of the different existing graphical solutions. It classifies and compares its visualization models in order to present the main advantages and disadvantages of each one of them. Secondly, the document contains a study of the current technologies that could represent an alternative that comprises the positive aspects of each model. Finally, the document proposes a solution that presents the models studied and describes the different problems faced during its development. For the development of this project, the collection of valid data for their future visualization is necessary. For this reason, the solution proposes a data structure necessary for its development, as well as a storage system and a distribution engine. The development of a tool that copes with the creation and introduction of these periodical data was essential in order to offer the final-user an interactive feeling. Therefore, the final aim is the design and development of an application that fulfils the previously studied requisites and allows the management, edition and visualization of data regarding the previously gathered models through free, open-source and modern tools. Finally, this document includes a compendium of the difficulties found during the development of the application as well as the run-through scenarios tested and improvements implemented. The conclusion includes the guidelines for revision, expansion and future improvement of the application.

Nowadays, almost everybody has access to Internet by an electronic device. Either it is within a mobile, a tablet, a computer or any other devices. So, thanks to the Internet access we are connected all over the world. In this project is where we treat, the combination of health, mobile and medicine. The wide use of the mobile technologies is opening new and innovative shapes to improve the benefit of the health and the sanitary attention. From this technology are born the mobile applications where it can help to the consumers to manage their own health and welfare, and they have access to useful information when and where they want to. Increasingly the consumers use the applications of health. It is necessary to say then that Internet is in the patients pocket, and thanks to Internet is easier each own health personal management. All this group of ideas have given to the creation of AAAida, a social platform created by Alteraid, one spin-off formed by teachers of the EETAC (UPC). This social platform offers a special follow-up especially to the big people and at same time the peace to their familiars. The information shares as a social network between the familiars and the doctors. This project is based on an application that consists with a managing control board of cases of a day Hospital or day Medical Centre. This application will use for the follow-up and evolution of a patient by means of any device, since it will adapt to the resolution of each of them. The application can reduce the sanitary expense because it allows to have controlled the health of the patients by intelligent device uses.
