En la situación actual en la que se encuentra el mundo cada vez son más los gobiernos, las empresas y las personas que optan por usar energías renovables e intentan minimizar el uso de las fuentes de energía fósil. En los últimos años ha habido un crecimiento exponencial en el uso de estas energías y se han endurecido las normas para el uso de las fósiles, limitando así la emisión de gases perjudiciales para la atmósfera y el planeta. De hecho, incluso desde organizaciones gubernamentales como la ONU se han creado planes a largo plazo como la agenda 2030 y se busca reducir al máximo el impacto negativo. Esto nos ha llevado a generar una demanda mucho más elevada en energías como la eólica o la solar. Este tipo de energías abarcan muchos campos de la ingeniería, pero uno de ellos y muy importante es la electrónica de potencia. Es necesario tener convertidores de electrónica de potencia en nuestros parques eólicos o solares, para adaptar la energía producida a las necesidades de la red eléctrica. Junto a todo el crecimiento en el uso de energías más sostenibles ha ido en alza el estudio de la eficiencia energética y es aquí donde se centra este trabajo de final de grado. A la salida de los convertidores, se utilizan filtros para mejorar la eficiencia y calidad energética. Por eso, este trabajo se ha centrado en estudiar un tipo de filtros muy usados como son las inductancias, pero trabajando de forma acoplada. Para poder ver qué beneficios tiene éste en comparación con las inductancias tradicionales y si hará un mejor filtrado, diseño más compacto, más económico y con mejor calidad energética.

In the current situation in which the world finds itself, more and more governments, companies, and individuals are opting to use renewable energies and attempt to minimize the use of fossil energy sources. In recent years, there has been an exponential growth in the use of these energies, and regulations for the use of fossil fuels have been tightened, thus limiting the emission of harmful gases into the atmosphere and the planet. In fact, even governmental organizations such as the UN have created long-term plans like the 2030 agenda, aiming to minimize negative impacts as much as possible. This has led to a much higher demand for energy sources such as wind and solar power. These types of energies encompass various fields of engineering, but one of the most important ones is power electronics. It is necessary to have power electronic converters in our wind or solar parks to adapt the energy produced to the needs of the electrical grid. Alongside the growth in the use of more sustainable energies, the study of energy efficiency has also been on the rise. This is where this final degree project focuses. At the output of the converters, filters are used to improve energy efficiency and quality. Therefore, this project has focused on studying a type of widely used filters known as inductors, but working in a coupled manner. The goal is to determine the benefits compared to traditional inductors and whether they provide better filtering, a more compact design, cost-effectiveness, and improved energy quality.

The effects of global warming and the impact of fossil fuels have incremented the research and development of renewable energy sources and the management of it. Transport sector is affected by this situation and its electrification is going to be a key factor in the energy transition. On this scenario, systems with bidirectional power flow capability are necessary to consume, store and supply energy. Electric vehicles (EV) are going to be used in transportation and energy storage applications in order to be used as a back-up system for the electrical grid. The on-board charger (OBC) is the device used for the connectivity between the grid and the vehicle. Nowadays, EV include an unidirectional OBC for charging the inlet battery. However, automotive manufacturers are beginning to develop bidirectional solutions in regard of the new electrical horizon. FICOSA, a Tier 1 manufacturer, in its Electromobility business unit, there is interest in developing new OBC solutions and technologies. The expected power demands and voltage levels for the up-coming EVs require the use of new materials. Since the past recent years, wide band-gap (WBG) semiconductors have appeared to be a better solution than solid-state and silicon (S)i switches for power converters. Their power capabilities, voltage level, switching frequencies, thermal and switching losses make them an interesting alternative. Consequently, this project is focused in the development of a power-stage application for an OBC, the ac-dc power factor corrector (PFC) converter using WBG semiconductors. Based on this premise, this document includes an extended analysis and justification of the importance of EV and OBC; making an overview of OBC. Then, the design of the PFC converter is started by a topology analysis and selection for the converter, resulting a tote-pole (TP) structure. Therefore, operation control modes and other improvements to the converter are studied. This, results in the development of the control structure to ensure an appropriate operation in both bidirectional power flows. There, the modulation strategy proposed in this project is a new approach to the Hybrid-PWM (HPWM) existing one, presenting remarkable improvements for a bidirectional TP structure, as simulations show. Finally, the study of this Matser's thesis includes the development of the hardware of the PFC converter where the circuits are designed and WBG switches are used. This results in the design and fabrication of a prototyping board. Future works will focus on the development of the software system and the validation of the converter

Aquest projecte té com a objectiu principal calcular el guany d'energia mig que es podria esperar d'un sistema fotovoltaic integrat al sostre i altres parts del vehicle elèctric per tal de reduir la càrrega de xarxa. En funció del perfil del consumidor final i, per tant, de l'ús que li fa al vehicle, es veurà quin percentatge d'energia pot cobrir el sistema implementat. Es combinen els sectors del transport i de les energies renovables amb el propòsit de desenvolupar i apostar per tecnologies poc integrades en l'actualitat, però que donaran solucions a problemes futurs, especialment relacionats amb la mobilitat elèctrica. L'interès per aquest projecte neix com a conseqüència d'haver començat a treballar en el sector de l'energia fotovoltaica juntament amb la intenció de contribuir amb el medi ambient per construir un futur més sostenible. El primer pas ha consistit en descriure l'estat actual d'ambdós sectors, on s'introdueix al lector la problemàtica ambiental actual i com grans entitats comencen a establir objectius per el canvi cap a un futur verd, invertint i aplicant mesures correctores. A continuació, s'ha desenvolupat un bloc teòric on s'expliquen el aspectes més rellevants tant de l'energia fotovoltaica com els del vehicle elèctric. Un cop contextualitzada la situació, s'ha procedit amb la realització d'una simulació digital amb el programari PVsyst. Un cop obtinguts uns resultats favorables, s'ha procedit a la simulació física del projecte. Per a fer-ho, s'ha emprat una càrrega programable per a simular el vehicle en si, i també dues plaques fotovoltaiques. Tots els materials necessaris han estat cedits per Disolar i el SEER. Tot seguit, s'ha procedit a la recopilació de les dades obtingudes. Per finalitzar, un cop analitzades les dades, es pot afirmar que el sistema implementat pot arribar a cobrir un percentatge igual a 33% en el millor dels casos pel vehicles particulars i respecte als vehicles comercials un 16% , sent aquesta una xifra important del consum del vehicle elèctric. Cal tenir en compte que s'obtindran majors resultats durant els mesos d'estiu, no obstant, s'espera que amb la millora d'eficiència dels mòduls fotovoltaics, aquesta energia generada pugui abastir una gran part del consum elèctric.
